1 Title I Annual Orientation
Federal Support for Polk School District Eastside Elementary School October 18, 2018

2 School Wide Plans Our School-wide Plan (SWP) addresses the areas in which we want to improve, so that all of our students will be successful. Needs Assessment completed in the previous Spring and Summer by teachers, parents, students ( middle and high school) and community members. School strengths and weaknesses are based on data. Detailed description of the academic programs available to improve student achievement. Parent involvement opportunities. Budget The School Wide plans include: A summary from the Needs Assessments completed the previous Spring and summer by parents, students in middle and high school, teachers, and community members. Multiple sources of data , like EOCT, Ga. Milestones,benchmark assessments,and surveys are reviewed to determine the strength and weakness of the school. The plan has detailed descriptions of the academic programs and strategies used to improve student achievement. It has the budget and the funding source for the academic program. Opportunities for parents to be involved in the total school program are also outlined in the School Wide Plan along with parent input on how to spend the 1% of the Parent Involvement money sent to Polk School District. Copies of the plan are available in the Parent Resource Center.

3 Eastside Elementary Each summer, school faculty meet to review the College Career Readiness Performance Index ( CCRPI). The CCRPI is a comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform for all educational stakeholders that will promote collect and career readiness for all Georgia public school students. Our school had a score of 80. Our strength is math. Our areas for improvement are writing.

4 Parent Involvement Set Aside
For the school year, Polk School District received approximately $2,565, for Title I. Our district is required to set aside 1%, $25,652.00, in order to fund parent engagement activities. Parent engagement activities for our school will include: Title 1 Annual Meeting Spooky Science Night Family Reading Night Family Math Night Technology Night Title 1 Spring Meeting.

5 Title I Parent Center Located in the 2nd Grade Pod in the Parent Involvement Coordinators Office. Hours of operation: 8:30-2:30 We offer workshops throughout the year such as: Title l Annual Meeting Curriculum Night STEM Night Math Night Spooky Science Family Reading Night Spring Meeting

6 Title I Parent Documents
Before October 31 all parents or guardians are notified of where to locate the following documents: District and school Parent Involvement Policy, Code of Conduct Also parents and guardians receive a copy of the following documents: Parent Right to Know procedures for the qualifications of the paraprofessionals and teachers in their child's school. Grade or subject specific School/Parent Compact Status of the schools in Polk School District

7 Parents' Rights If you have any concerns about our school's Title I Program, you may submit them to Wesley Cupp. All of the parent rights are listed in the Polk School District Code of Conduct located at

8 McKinney-Vento All families are asked to complete a parent questionnaire on housing at the beginning of the school year. If a family meets the eligibility criteria, you will be contacted by the Homeless Coordinator at Central Office. Your school counselor is always available to answer any questions about services provided to students who are eligible for McKinney- Vento Act.
