These are all very successful advertisements, or you wouldnt remember them. They encourage you to spend your money on a good or service. An advertisement is a public promotion of a good or service.

Its time for you to work together to develop advertisements that you will use to promote your business. Please fill out the advertisement forms in your Business Workbook.

Now that you have created your advertisements, its time to receive your official checkbook for JA Biztown.

During each of your two breaks at JA BizTown, you will receive no more than $2.00 in JA BizTown cash during each deposit. You can use this cash to buy snacks, a newspaper, or make a donation to a philanthropy. (You write checks for other purchases.)

Whats a Philanthropy?

Philanthropy involves giving money or other resources to charities, non- profit organizations, or other groups. You may have noticed that your business gives philanthropically. There is a line item on your Business Costs worksheet for philanthropy. Your business donates money, and you, as an individual, can too. 35 Now please complete your first deposit ticket. Its a good idea to do this now, before you go to JA BizTown. Remember, you cant take out more than $2.00 in cash per deposit.

Please write your name on each check and deposit ticket in your checkbook, too. Do this now, so you wont have to remember each time you want to use your checkbook.

Its time to check off each task on your Ready For Success Worksheet. Please turn to page 90 in your workbook.

Finally, lets look at a typical day at JA BizTown. (transparency 6-2b)

We have a few more days until our visit to Junior Achievement BizTown. You may continue to work with your teacher to finish your Business Workbooks if needed, and to make sure your checklist is complete. Congratulations!
