Type of animal, scientific name
Our animal is the Komodo Dragon, and its scientific name is Varanus Komodoensis International Wildlife encyclopedia, volume 12, page 1387

What it looks like. The komodo dragon has a snout, a somewhat flattened body with a thick neck and a long head. It has short legs with long clawed toes. It also has a powerful tail that’s almost as long as its body and head. They have narrow, deeply cleft tongues. The young ones are darker in color with red circles on their body,and vertical bands of black and yellowish green on their necks.It can grow up to 10ft long and weigh up to 250lb. What it eats. It’s a omnivore, eating plants and animals. Its diet is made up of deer, pigs, and monkeys. Young Komodo Dragons eat insects, ground dwelling birds and their eggs, and monkeys. International Wildlife encyclopedia, volume 12, page 1387

Its home and habitat Komodo Dragons sleep in holes among rocks buttress and lives on hilly islands and prefer rain forests and lowlands with tall grass and lots of food! International Wildlife encyclopedia, volume 12, page 1387
