1 Sciatic endometriosis diagnosed by computerized tomography–guided biopsy and CD10 immunohistochemical staining  Kaori Koga, M.D., Ph.D., Yutaka Osuga, M.D., Ph.D., Miyuki Harada, M.D., Yasushi Hirota, M.D., Haruyasu Yamada, M.D., Masaaki Akahane, M.D., Koji Kugu, M.D., Ph.D., Yuji Taketani, M.D., Ph.D.  Fertility and Sterility  Volume 84, Issue 5, Pages 1508.e e12 (November 2005) DOI: /j.fertnstert Copyright © 2005 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Terms and Conditions

2 FIGURE 1 (A) CT-guided percutaneous needle biopsy. An 18-gauge needle was inserted using intermittent CT guidance to check its trajectory and advanced in the lesion. Sample was then obtained and submitted for histologic studies. (B) Immunohistochemical staining for CD10 of the sample. Within the fibrotic tissue, there was a single layer of epithelium accompanied by stromal cells. CD10 was strongly positive on stromal cells beneath the epithelium that indicated these cells were endometrial stromal cells. Arrowheads: epithelium. Original magnification 100×. Koga. Diagnosis of sciatic endometriosis. Fertil Steril 2005. (C) Immunohistochemical staining for CD10 of the sample. Cells of fibrotic tissue diffused in the atrophic muscle were CD10 strongly positive, indicating these cells were endometrial stromal cells. Asterisks: atrophic muscle. Original magnification 100×.
