Design and development of Radar based FMCW Reflectometry at IPR Poster discusses the present status of the FMCW Reflectometer being established at IPR, India. O-Mode FMCW Reflectometer has been designed to operate in the Ka-Band frequencies. It is capable of ultra-fast sweep times of upto 5µs over the complete microwave band and consequently has data acquisition rates of 200MSps A sweeper unit to generate arbitrary ramp to drive the VCO linearly in frequency has been developed and implemented. A wave collection and transport system has been designed and installed using oversized waveguide components to minimize path losses due to attenuation. A super heterodyne microwave hardware unit has been successfully implemented with advanced IQ detection system to enable vector measurements. The complete system is tested in the lab using metal plate as target and the frequency linearization verified and the internal delay characterized and corrected. The system is currently being installed in the tokamak to begin density profile measurements at IPR.
