Advice for Parents Make sure your son gets off to a good academic start – Skyward, Coaching Staff Support. Encourage your son to be a multi sport athlete as long as possible. Encourage your son to “hang in there” with football – understand the process – “A”, “B”, JV Team. Prepare your son for the path, not the path for your son. Love your son, don’t fall in love with him. Release your son to athletics, let us coach them Your teammates are not competition Adults have changed, kids are just the result of that

9th Grade FAQ Is their tryouts? No, Everyone makes the team! There is a A and B team. 9A schedule is up, B is filled in as other teams know numbers. Teams practice together Is their practice everyday? Yes right after school. No weekend practices Is their a bus ride home after school? During school yes, during August practice no. Activity bus leaves North at 4:55 Is gear provided? Buy your own girdle, mouth guard and cleats. Everything else is provided. We have extra cleats if needed. During school what is the schedule? Players report to the locker room right after school, have a meeting, then have practice and head home Is a bus provided to games? Yes, players are required to take the bus to and from road games When do I officially sign up for football? In late July it will be on Fee pay When are games? A games are Wednesdays after school and B games are typically Thursdays or Fridays

Two A Days August 12th 10th/Varsity at South 8AM-2:00PM most days, check calendar for adjustments 9th grade at North 8:00AM-10:30AM most days, check with coaches for adjustments in times 10th/Varsity will need a lunch, tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, football gear at all of two a days First 5 days are non contact for all players You are not allowed to leave for lunch or leave campus without a parent during practice times We have practice, meetings, weight lifting, film study, conditioning, etc.

Practice All players must be at all practices
A unexcused absence to practice is an automatic 1/2 game suspension, NO EXCEPTIONS An unexcused absence is no call, no note and no communication with a coach If you are not at school, it is considered a excused absence If injured, you still fully suit up for practice this is a 9-12 policy Only exception is a head injury

Labor Day and MEA Labor Day: 9th no practice
10th/Varsity afternoon practice 3PM MEA October 18th and 19th 10th/Varsity players off from Thursday afternoon of MEA until Monday Playoffs start the following week

Fundraising and Team Fee
This year it is $205 for football registration and a $200 team fee The team fee is to help with helmet and shoulder pad rising costs When players pay the team fee this year they will be given their bear cards the first Tuesday of football You keep what you sell! If you sell $20 Bear Cards, you will earn $400 You can offset costs by selling your cards No letter writing, no snap fitness fundraisers For free and reduced lunch the cost will be reduced

Cost is $100. Available to purchase at summer weights or pay for at the start of the season, cash or checks, checks made out to WBL Football Equipment handout will be June 4th after school at South campus for 10-12th, you can get player packs there as well 9th grade will get equipment in August
