Important Dates April 8 – May EOCs/Finals/AP Testing – you must take either an EOC Exam, Final Exam and/or AP Exam in order for your grades to finalize….failure to do so will hinder your graduation status and may result in not being able to participate in senior activities including graduation April Academic Signing Day 12:30pm in the Lee High gymnasium April Grad Bash (This event is sold out)

Graduation Tickets Each senior will be issued ten (10) tickets for graduation. Seniors can garner additional tickets if they: Parent/Guardian attends parent meeting (1) Purchased the Senior Package (2) Turns in Graduation Activities Permission Slip (April 2019) (2) Student has earned “College Ready” status (both reading and math) (2) Submits college acceptance letters/sign letter of intent with military (2) Student completes the FAFSA (1) Student completes FFAA (1) Student successfully completed a dual enrollment course with grade “C” or better (1 – no extras awarded if more than one course was taken)

Graduation Rehearsal There will be two MANDATORY rehearsals:

Baccalaureate/Graduation Attire
Young Men Cap & Gown Dark Necktie, White Shirt & Dark Dress Slacks Dark dress socks & dark dress shoes Dark boat shoes are acceptable

Attire continued Young Ladies Cap & Gown
Dress, skirt (any color), or black slacks. Dresses should have straps and reach past mid-thigh. Skirts should reach past mid-thigh. Black Shoes (must have a strap or closed back – open toes are fine) Natural Color hosiery (if desired) Young ladies should not have a collar on their attire

NO TANK TOPS NO T-SHIRTS Absolutely no decorating of caps – DO NOT ASK – THEY ANSWER IS NO!

Attire continued All graduates’ hair must be so that the cap sits flat across the top of the head.

Commencement Exercises
May 31, 1:00pm at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena All seniors are required to arrive no later than 12:00pm Guests will be required to present a ticket as they enter the Arena. Parking ranges from $ $10.00 and is available at numerous garages or lots in the area

Horns, helium balloons, signs, banners, confetti or anything distracting to the ceremony WILL NOT BE PERMITTED into the Arena.

Students are not permitted to bring the following items: Purses/Book bags (will have to be searched and put into Arena storage) Food/Drink/Gum/Candy Balloons/Toys/Streamers/Confetti Illegal Substances (alcohol/nicotine products) CELL PHONES (will be collected at the Arena and put into storage)

Commencement Exercises Continued
Graduates will be searched twice upon arrival Any graduate caught with a banned item will be pulled from the graduation line If any graduate exhibits behaviors unbecoming of a graduate during the Commencement Exercises, that student’s diploma, report card and final transcript will be held at the school until such a time when an appointment can be made with the principal, the student, and the parents/guardian of the student.

Commencement Exercises continued
Seniors will be allowed to drop off their cell phones at the security/inspection area. They may claim them after picking up their diploma. It is advised however, that they leave the cell phone at home, or with a family member.

Cap & Gown Disbursement
May 22, 2019 at 8:00am in the auditorium Students will line up outside on the veranda and we will use the following procedure: 1. All students are given a Senior Clearance Sheet. This form will list if the student still has textbooks out, owes the school any money, or has an academic issue with the Curriculum/Guidance department.

If the student’s clearance form is blank, it will be stamped and the student can proceed into the auditorium. Once inside the auditorium, the student will pickup their cap and gown, cords (if applicable), and their graduation tickets. We encourage the student to try on their cap and gown for fitting purposes – as the Herff-Jones representative will be present.

Students who haven’t paid for a cap and gown will be required to pay $75.00 at this time. ***CASH ONLY OR MONEY ORDER ONLY*** ABSOLUTELY NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED All money orders should be made payable to Herff Jones

If the student has textbooks out/owes money/or has a Curriculum issue – the student will not receive a cap, gown, cords, or tickets until the issue(s) has been resolved. These students will have until 11:00am to get the issue cleared or come back on Thursday, May 23, 2019 between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00am to receive their cap and gown. No cap and gowns will be dispersed after May 24, 2019

7578 New Kings Road Jacksonville, FL 32219 Seniors are asked to arrive by 5:30pm This is a religious service held prior to commencement containing a farewell sermon to the graduating class. Participation is voluntary.
