Newsletter April 2019
Summer Term
Our topics for next term are based around the children’s interests and will include a numeracy based week.
At Bizzy Bears we have an open door policy, we welcome all parents/carer’s into our setting. You are welcome to come along any morning or afternoon between 9.00am-10.00am and 12.30pm-1.30pm and join in the fun! You don’t have to stay for the whole session, perhaps 10 minutes when dropping off your child. The children enjoy this special time and it gives you an opportunity to experience Preschool life from your child’s perspective. Please let a member of staff know if you would like to stay.
Mothers day singing celebration
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Mothers day singing celebration on Friday afternoon, it was lovely to see so many of you there.
Parents voice meeting
Thank you to all those parents who attended our recent parents voice meeting. We discussed venues for this years summer trip, with parents suggesting alternative venues. We would like to gather all parents/carers views so have attached a questionnaire for parents to complete and return to Bizzy Bears. We also spoke to parents about future events including a numeracy and healthy living week of activities.
Summer trip Friday 14th June
We would like your views on a suitable venue for this year’s summer trip. Please complete the questionnaire attached to this newsletter and return to Preschool by Friday 5th April.
Billing Annual Summer Fayre
Bizzy Bears will once again be at this years Billing Annual Fayre on Saturday 29th June here at the pavilion. As our “Teddy tombola” was so successful at the previous Fayre we would welcome any donations of unwanted soft toys for this years stall.
Please come along and see us on the day here at the playing field, as well as our tombola we will have lots of fun activities for everyone, any money we raise go towards the Pre school fun day.

2. Children’s progress summaries
Lunch boxes
Please can we remind parents that children need a drink in their packed lunch and a cool block in the warm weather as we are unable to refrigerate all packed lunches. We would also ask that all grapes, strawberries and cucumber pieces be cut in half as these can be choking hazards when eaten whole. Thank you
Sickness Policy
All children are expected to be well on arrival at Pre school. If you feel your child is unwell enough to require Calpol/Nurofen or any other Paracetamol product before coming to Pre school, we would ask that you keep them at home. Please refer to our sickness policy for more information which can be found on our website or alternatively there is a paper copy of all our policies in the changing room.
Car Park
We kindly ask that when you enter the lane up to the Preschool car park and whilst driving in the car park you do so slowly and with consideration to pedestrians. We also ask that all children are supervised in this area to ensure safety at all times. Thank you
Home learning bags
We are still operating our home learning bag scheme with our younger children and their families 2-3 year olds. The bags contain a variety of activities, games, art and craft materials, threading, matching games, songs and stories. They are available free of charge on a weekly basis. We are also extending this scheme to our school leavers and have created a range of mathematical learning bags to enhance children’s mathematical development. We will be introducing these as part of a numeracy theme week w/c 29th April.
Children’s progress summaries
Please can we ask that all children progress summaries are signed and returned to their key person by Friday 5th April so that we can maintain your child’s development records.
