4 *CALL TO WORSHIP (unison)
God of all Creation, as we come to know you and your Son through the living Word of Scripture and our experience of your amazing world, enlighten our hearts with the spirit of wisdom

5 and understanding. Remind us again of Christ’s love for his “church” at all times and in all places – including here and now. Renew in us our purpose as Christ’s followers:

6 to proclaim and build God’s Kingdom of peace and love
to proclaim and build God’s Kingdom of peace and love. Bless our worship this morning, and as we are filled with your presence, may we be empowered and strengthened to carry your Spirit of

7 love out to the world around us
love out to the world around us. In the name of the Ascended Lord, Jesus the Christ, we pray. Amen.

*HYMN #150 “Come, Christians, Join to Sing” v.3 Singing forevermore; “Alleluia! Amen!”

14 *PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)
Holy One of Israel, even while we praise you as “Lord God Almighty” and claim that we love you, we have failed to give you

15 the commitment you demand and deserve, and we have failed to love our neighbors as you ask. We confess our arrogant, self-centered exercise of love in our own lives (pause),

16 in our church (pause), in our families (pause), and in our world (pause). We desperately cling to our own wants and needs, failing to trust your powerful love.

17 (silence is observed for reflection and prayer)
In your mercy, forgive us, we pray, for the harm we have done to others, to ourselves, and to you. (silence is observed for reflection and prayer)

18 P: Thanks be to God for such beautiful love. Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Do not fear God, because in love, God forgives you, and in grace, God redeems you. P: Thanks be to God for such beautiful love. Amen.

19 SCRIPTURE READING: Revelation 21:10,22 – 22:5

20 And in the spirit he carried me away to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city had no need of sun or moon to shine for it,

21 for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb
for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. Its gates will never be shut by day – and there will be no night there. People will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.

22 But nothing unclean will enter it, nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the

23 middle of the street of the city
middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month; and the laves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it,

24 and his servants will worship him; they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign for ever and ever.

26 Time With Young Christians

27 SCRIPTURE READING: Acts 1:1-11

28 In the first book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus did and taught from the beginning until the day when he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. After his suffering he presented himself alive to

29 them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over the course of forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. While staying with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the promise of the Father. ‘This,’ he said, ‘is what you have heard from me;

30 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’ So when they had come together, they asked him, ‘Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He replied, ‘It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father

31 has set by his own authority
has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up,

32 and a cloud took him out of their sight
and a cloud took him out of their sight. While he was going and they were gazing up towards heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up towards heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come

33 in the same way as you saw him go into heaven
in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.’ L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!

Dear Lord, and shall we ever live at this poor dying rate? Our love so faint, so cold to Thee, and Thine to us so great!

38 *Hymn #126 “Come, Holy Spirit…” v.4
Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, with all Thy quickening powers; Come, shed abroad a Savior’s love, and that shall kindle ours.

44 A LITANY FOR MEMORIAL DAY (Right & Left are YOUR right & left)

45 L: In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember them
L: In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember them. In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, we remember them. In the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring, we remember them.

46 In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer, we remember them. In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn, we remember them. In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember them.

47 When we are weary and in need of strength, we remember them
When we are weary and in need of strength, we remember them. When we are lost and sick at heart, we remember them. When we have joys we yearn to share, we remember them.

48 So long as we live, they too shall live, for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

49 Right: Our holy and gracious God, help us to remember.
Left: Help us to remember the sacrifices bravely made in which one has given life for another and for all.

50 Right: Help us to remember those that stand in the dangerous space where there is trouble and in which conflict threatens to undo your good creation.

51 Left: Help us to remember the family and friends of those who have given all. May their hearts be comforted and blessed.

52 Right: Help us to remember those who lost fellow soldiers and let us bring healing to their grief.

53 Left: Help us to remember that we look for the day when every sword will be replaced by a plow, that all may be fed and live in your peace.

54 (A Moment of Silence to remember those who didn’t choose political sides and were willing to step up for all, and they paid the ultimate price)

55 ALL: Forgive us every sin that makes for division and for war, and bring us all into your kingdom on earth as in heaven.

56 Continue to heal those who still grieve over ones who gave all for us
Continue to heal those who still grieve over ones who gave all for us. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

57 PASTORAL PRAYER

58 The Lord’s Prayer (unison)
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

59 Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

60 For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

62 *HYMN #562 “Eternal Father Strong to Save” v.1

66 *HYMN #562 “Eternal Father Strong to Save” v.3

Thus evermore shall rise to Thee glad praise from air and land and sea.
