What Qualifies as a Youth Program?
A program that contains one or more participants under the age of 18 Common Examples: Summer Camps, Field Trips to College of Charleston Campus, Childcare Duration of Program does not affect the need to register Occur through or take place the College of Charleston

How do I register a youth program?
Step 1: Program Director sends the Office of Legal Affairs stating intention to host a youth program (providing dates of program) a minimum of 60 days prior to program start date Step 2: After Receiving the the Program Director will be provided with a Questionnaire Step 3: Upon Receiving the completed questionnaire the Office of Legal Affairs will provide the Program Director with a Program Resource Guide outlining requirements and all forms/waivers necessary to host the program Step 4: Forms/requirements must be completed/returned a minimum of 10 business days prior to the Program start date

Questionnaire 36 questions designed to tailor waivers/forms specifically to the program Sample questions include: Location of program, Dates/times, Types of Activities, Ratio of Counselors to Minors, Housing Requirements, Sponsor Information Information provided is distributed to Legal Affairs, Insurance Services, Public Safety, Environmental Heath and Safety to ensure your program runs smoothly and that program staff, the College and the participants are protected

Resource Guide: Hard copy and electronic copy provided
Resource Guide Cover Sheet: Providing Information on Insurance, Background Checks, Darkness to Light Training Requirements as well as Forms/Waivers for completion Resource Guide Folder Contains: Tailored release for all program participants (must be signed by parent/legal guardian of each minor participant) Program Director Checklist – to help program director navigate requirement completion Program Director Verification Form – to verify program director has completed all requirements Facility Use or Facility Rental Agreement tailored specifically to the program Statement of Acknowledgement and Agreement for Working with Minors Brochures/Additional Materials to assist with program
