Formal definition: an XML-based file format for storing MPEG-4 data in a way suitable for further editing
For excel = Need to treat this like .txt file with delimiters
Which means you need to use you import data feature called “Get Data” or “From Text/CVS” on the data tab in Excel.

Go the Data Tab – Click “Get Data” or “From Text/CVS”
Navigate to where saved the file and then say open.
If you do not the “.xmt” make sure change the looking for .txt to all files.
