1 Homecrest Presbyterian Church Worship of the Lord’s Day June 11th, st Sunday after Pentecost Trinity Sunday

2 Gathering Around the WORD Call To Worship
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea. Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity, who was, and is, and is to come. Hallelujah

3 Gathering Hymn #20 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors; God made their tiny wings.

4 Gathering Hymn #20 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. The purple-headed mountain, the river running by, the sunset, and the morning that brightens up the sky:

5 Gathering Hymn #20 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden, God made them every one.

6 Gathering Hymn #20 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

7 Gathering Hymn #20 “All Things Bright and Beautiful”
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.

8 Gathering Around the WORD Call to Confession (Acts 2:21) Creation displays the glory of God, but our sin keeps us from rejoicing in the love God reveals. Yet Christ Jesus the Son carried our sins to the cross, and the Holy Spirit breathes a new life into us so that we can praise God, our Maker, Savior, and life-giving Love. Let us confess our sins that we may receive such grace.

9 Gathering Around the WORD Prayer of Confession (in unison)
Holiness, Word, Power, you reveal yourself as one God in three persons, a mighty, creative, life-generating dancer who invites your creation to join you. Forgive us Lord, as we strive to extend your mercy upon others. Catch us up in your love and lead us into your world to call others to follow you with singing and rejoicing, Amen.

10 Gathering Around the WORD Declaration of Forgiveness (Lamentations 3:22-23 and Micah 6:8) The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Friends, God has renewed us each morning and given us new opportunities to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with our God. Thanks be to God, Amen.

11 Gathering Around the WORD Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

12 Gathering Around the WORD Passing of the Peace of Christ

13 Proclaiming the WORD Message to the Youth/ Prayer of Illumination

14 Proclaiming the WORD Responsive Reading (Psalm 8:1-9)
O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

15 Proclaiming the WORD Responsive Reading (Psalm 8:1-9)
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?

16 Proclaiming the WORD Responsive Reading (Psalm 8:1-9)
Yet you have made them a little lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honor. You have given them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under their feet,

17 Proclaiming the WORD Responsive Reading (Psalm 8:1-9)
all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Sovereign, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

18 Proclaiming the WORD Scripture Reading (Genesis 1:1-4)
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, 2 the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

19 Proclaiming the WORD The Ultimate Fidget Spinner
Psalm 8 and Genesis 1:1-2, 4

20 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea; 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High.

21 5 God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved;
God will help it when the morning dawns. 6 The nations are in an uproar, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

22 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD;
see what desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow, and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. 10 "Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth." 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

23 Proclaiming the WORD The Ultimate Fidget Spinner
Psalm 8 and Genesis 1:1-2, 4

24 Responding Hymn # 716 “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending”
God, whose giving knows no ending, from your rich and endless store, nature's wonder, Jesus' wisdom, costly cross, grave's shattered door: gifted by you, we turn to you, offering up ourselves in praise; thankful song shall rise forever, gracious donor of our days.

25 Responding Hymn # 716 “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending”
God, whose giving knows no ending, from your rich and endless store, nature's wonder, Jesus' wisdom, costly cross, grave's shattered door: gifted by you, we turn to you, offering up ourselves in praise; thankful song shall rise forever, gracious donor of our days.

26 Responding Hymn # 716 “God, Whose Giving Knows No Ending”
Skills and time are ours for pressing toward the goals of Christ, your Son: all at peace in health and freedom, races joined, the church made one. Now direct our daily labor, lest we strive for self alone. Born with talents, make us servants fit to answer at your throne.

34 Responding Hymn # 32 “I Sing the Mighty Power of God”
I sing the mighty power of God that made the mountains rise, that spread the flowing seas abroad and built the lofty skies. I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day. The moon shines full at God's command, and all the stars obey.

35 Responding Hymn # 32 “I Sing the Mighty Power of God”
I sing the goodness of the Lord who filled the earth with food. God formed the creatures through the Word, and then pronounced them good. Lord, how thy wonders are displayed, where'er I turn my eye, if I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky!

36 Responding Hymn # 32 “I Sing the Mighty Power of God”
There's not a plant or flower below but makes thy glories known. And clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from thy throne, while all that borrows life from thee is ever in thy care, and everywhere that we can be, thou, God, art present there.
