Conclusion Wind profiles obtained airborne from 5000 m altitude down to ground. Wake vortices can be detected and characterised in the boundary layer. Higher energy would be welcome e.g. 10 mJ !?! Working Group on Space-Based Lidar Winds; Oxnard Feb. 2003
