No membership No NETS No EmCom training No involvement Nothing

What is; after 9/04 RI Hams were looking for involvement
A call to all RI ham and emergency service organizations was put out looking for membership, affiliation and the need for reliable backup communications.

What we have; Over 70 members & growing Affiliations with;
RI Emergency Management Agency RI Red Cross E911 RI Department of Health ARES involvment in many local City and Town EMA’s and they are growing…..

ARRL ARECC FEMA ICS programs Digital Communications : ARES BBS Winlink 2000 Telpac Gateway

Where we’re going RI ARES / RI EMA ham radio initiative
Bringing ham radio back into the local community EMA. RI ARES / RI Depart. of Health Bringing ham radio to area hospitals EmComm. See NFPA 99 and JACAHO standards pertaining to hospital emergency preparedness and training RI Red Cross Increase ham radio presence in RI ARC. Continuing ham radio training for CERT members

What we’re doing … Coordinated Emergency NET
Between ARES, local EMA’s and RI EMA EOC Centralized digital messaging BBS messaging, Bulletins NTS-D radiograms Winlink Gateway Developing additional Winlink Stations throughout RI and neighboring CT and MA Developing Winlink EmComm HF PMBO station for long haul message handling.

What we’re doing … Coordinating ARES efforts
Assisting local officials in developing their ham radio operator efforts where none currently exist Providing ARES Training and EmComm support to local EMA Shelter Management Programs. Assisting local clubs and agencies in their communications needs for public service events such as: ADA bike run, USGA US Women's Open, parades.

What will be… RI ARES will;
Continue to develop working relationships in emergency service organizations, local EMA’s Coordinate EmComms on a statewide basis EmComm training statewide See our membership grow Develop a succession plan for continued future leadership and development
