The Collector for ArcGIS on Android Devices has not released an official new version as of now. Please DO NOT use the (Unreleased) BETA version shown below. This slide should be changed when the new Android version is released.

February 20th-23rd, 2019 a major flash flooding and severe weather event resulted in over two thousand homes, businesses and public infrastructure were damaged or destroyed as a result.

The Collector App was used by MEMA, disaster reservists and county personnel to perform damage assessments. MEMA GIS uses the data to create quick spreadsheets that are shared with the counties for damage reporting purposes. MEMA GIS also uses the data to produce special Web Apps or Dashboards for situational awareness.

Damage Assessment Workflow After an event the affected county/counties request help from MEMA to perform damage assessments. MEMA Field Services begin to help local emergency managers assemble assessment teams. At this point identified personnel that have never used the Collector Classic App need to download it to their device/s and receive a brief training. The identified personnel will be assigned login credentials at that time to access the current map.

Open the Collector App and select ArcGIS Online to log in.

Log into the Collector App using the username and password issued.

Select the desired Map If the desired map does not show then tap Search and type the current year and the word damage Tap Action to log out or to view settings.

Tap Location to show your current position on the map. Tap Collect to add new point on the map. The Accuracy Meter will show your location accuracy. Note: Location services should be enabled on device and app.

Fill out Assessment Form by tapping each Field and choosing or typing information. Please fill out as many fields as possible. All data is critical to decision makers. Ex. Insurance Rent or Own Special Needs

Attach a photo or video by tapping the Camera button. Tap the Map button to return or edit point manually. Tap Submit when complete.

Select any point then the Action button to activate other functions such as Edit.

Download the event map to your device. Maps that are downloadable will display the Download button.

Use pinch and zoom to choose Work Area or tap Map Detail for preset extents. Download when Ready. Note: Smaller work areas = Higher resolution imagery = more device storage

Collect points in the same manner as the connected version. When points have been collected tap Maps.

When connectivity is available tap the Sync icon to upload the collected points.

Before downloading and moving onto a different area or part of the county the current map must be removed. Tap the Action button in the top right. Choose Manage and Remove.

Choose Remove features and basemap. If you did not sync your stored data all will be lost after this final step.

When assistance is requested and destination is known, set the area/county by zooming in and out with your fingers then choose map detail.

County level detail will be the maximum downloadable extent. If smaller area is desired choose work area. Download when area is set.

The download bar will display and disappear when download is completed. After map is downloaded turn off WiFi on device.

Offline Collection Steps To access your downloaded maps tap the down arrow then On Device.

All Maps that are downloaded on your device or to your SD card will display. Choose the current year’s Damage Assessment map.

Before downloading a new map or area you must remove the previous map. Tap the Menu in the top right corner and choose Manage
