About interact club Interact clubs brings together young people ages 12 to 18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of service above self. Everything started in 1960 when Rotarian president Harold Thomas made a commitee formed of 5 people which had the purpose to study teenagers’ involvement in the Rotary club’s activities . Every highschooler in Romania can become a member of this club.

Involvements and activities
Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Activities:-treasure hunt -charity parties -fashion shows -art galleries -garden parties -plays

Tête-À-TêTE (February 2019)
Tête-à-tête is a project which aims at combining young people’s passion for art with the strong dimension of revolution (art as a form of protest). The event consists of an art exhibition in which over twenty artists’ works are on display. Participation to the events requires a minimum donation of 20 ron (approx. 5€), the money raised being donated to Casa Ioana, Centre for Prevention of Domestic Violence

Fashion show A group of students from the interact club decided to have an activity dedicated to fashion so they organized a fashion show on 9 March.

The theatre team Stefana Radu, the girl who helped us with the interview , takes part in this team. Their performances take place in different locations, such as children’s hospitals and group homes or orphanages. They also volunteer for various causes. Their last big project was called BeAtitudinem

BeAtitudinem (April 2019) Beatitudinem is a photo-hunt project which is meant to lead to discover of the complete and complex feeling of ”beatitudinem”=happiness The project is addressed to young people who are passionate about photography. Famous photograpers such as Marius Baragan, Oltin Dogaru , Cristi Radu, Cristiana Nuta and many others also attended the event. The project has to phases: ”Feel, not field hunt” which consist of photographic challange of the tresure hunt type Exhibition of the photos taken in the first phase and followed by a live concert. Participation to the events requered a minimum donation of approx. 6€, the money raised being donated to A.I.T.A. (Association for Therapeutic Intervention in Autismus)

Treasure hunt (May 2019) Treasure hunt is an activity which takes place every year where students explore the city without the GPS and without using the public transport. The students use a map which has different locations on it. They have a task at every check-point and they collect points. Based on the number of points, they collect money which will later be donated to different charities. This year the theme was GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Beneath the self (may 2019) ”A Project about Empathy” - Theatre performance for chartable purposes. Three group of young actors and their performances: Diary of Anne Frank – Trupa As Murderers - Cuibul Artiștilor The 9th Step – Trupa Victory of Art The purpose of art is to analize the connection between actor-spectator having as the starting point the idea by means of empathy the actors’ feelings the emotion reach audience. Thus, Beneath the self cost light on the concept of empathy as a means of creating inter human bonds. Participation to the events requires a minimum donation of 20 ron (approx. 5€), the money raised being used for Grivița 53 – the first independent theater in Romania
