1. The MMRT was deployed after both incidents to assist with the recovery, identification, and temporary storage of the victims and final release of remains to funeral homes chosen by the families.

2. In July 2017, members of the MMRT assisted in the response to the crash of a military transport plane in Leflore county. One of the MERC® units was deployed to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to provide additional storage capabilities.

3. Assistance can also be provided to other states through mutual aid agreements. In October 2015, the MMRT was placed on alert status pending possible deployment to South Carolina to assist during the catastrophic flooding that occurred.

4. Ultimately, closer resources were utilized and the assistance of the MMRT was not required.

5. In July 2018, members of the MMRT participated in an Active Shooter Exercise in Clarke County.

6. The team was tasked with the recovery and temporary storage of the victims prior to the transportation of the remains to the State Medical Examiner’s office.

7. A temporary morgue was established, and the MERC unit was set up for collection and storage of the remains.

8. This was the first time the team had trained in a scenario involving a crime scene. The following pictures are from that exercise.
