Big Question: How does the Earth form the rocks and minerals that I use in my everyday life? Learning Targets: I can write a scientific explanation(CER) for why Earth’s rock and mineral resources are distributed unevenly. I can develop a model to describe the cycling of Earth’s rock forming materials.

Carefully examine each object. Below the name of the object describe 3 specific details that would help to identify the object from the others. DO NOT DESCRIBE COLOR Circle the ones on your list you think are minerals. Now that you have examined some objects and thought about which ones are minerals, create a definition for mineral on the notecard. Think about what objects you circled. These must fit your definition. Think about the objects you did not circle. These must not fit your definition. Turn in your notecard when you are finished.
