ESTARTIT NOV 2009 I served aboard Loran Station Estartit twice. Once the first time was in Oct 1977 – Apr This was my best tour of duty. The town has change a bit however for the better. Now there is a grade school and many other things to improve the quality of life. The weather was like most winter days, on arrival it rained and then the second day was a nice beautiful autumn day. Yes, I walked the road up to the station like many of night while stationed there. The memories of just that walk could fill pages as most of you who been there can attest. While on my short visit I met with Mr. Sette, Teresa of Kim’s bar and some of the local folks at the Fighting Cock. Yes, the town hasn’t changed in the regard, most shops are closed for the winter.
