One of PMI Strategic Objectives is to make leadership excellence a strategic competency: Create a model for developing a strategic competency in leadership excellence that would be based on a culture of learning, founded on respect and support for one another. 4 Mentor/Mentee Expectations
Mentee is a person who seeks to develop with the help of mentor. Mentee takes responsibility for their personal development including identifying his/her own goals and makes plan to meet them. A Mentor is an experienced, wise and trusted adviser, counsellor or teacher, who helps mentee build skills to reach their goals. Mentee owns and drives the relationship. Mentor and Mentee makes commitment to the relationship.

5 Mentor/Mentee Expectations
The Mentor and Mentee will collaboratively develop a customized Project Management mentoring plan and conduct ongoing reviews to determine progress against the plan. Discuss and schedule the probable length of formal mentor/mentee partnership. The Mentoring Plan objectives must be practical, time bound, and specific. The Mentoring program will be focused on Project Management related topics.
