Key Messages Year 9 options for Key Stage 4 study is an important time in your school career. In order to make the right decisions regarding the subjects to study throughout Year 10 and 11, here is some practical advice to follow... Think about future pathways; which courses do you want to be able to access after Year 11 and beyond? Study what you need to study, not what your friends are choosing. Access the information, advice and guidance both in and out of school, researching your pathways fully. During Key Stage 4, be prepared to further develop your independence and resilience; learn to learn on your own Have high aspirations for yourself! Note that technology will be crucial – 30% of a job will be automated Learn skills that help you deal with and process lots of information

We have more subjects for you to select from than ever before. Some of these will be new to you at Key Stage 4, whilst others are part of our brand new innovative curriculum at The Hayfield School. It is less about what you choose but rather the skills that you can develop: Creative Analytical Being able to present yourself in front of others Being able to sell (persuade) Being passionate and interested in what you do Does this ring any bells from what you did in your form tutor period?
