Activation of Gα subunit chimeras with noncognate C termini. (A) Gsi, Gsq, and Gs12 chimeras fully restored cAMP accumulation in response to D1R stimulation (10 μM SKF 81297) in cells lacking endogenous Gαs family subunits (n = 4). (B) Gqs, Gqi, and Gq12 chimeras fully restored calcium release in response to M3R stimulation (100 μM acetylcholine) in cells lacking endogenous Gαq family subunits (n = 6). (C) Gqi but not Gqs and Gq12 chimeras fully restored calcium release in response to H1R stimulation (100 μM histamine) in cells lacking endogenous Gαq subunits (n = 4).
