How to deal with overlapping habitat types (e.g. sand banks occurring within an estuary)? Recent version: enter figure for the smaller habitats (e.g. sandbank) and estimate the larger habitat as the remainder of the area (e.g. estuary) in order not to exceed 100%. (Recommendation scientific working group) Revised version: indicate the actual area, figures will represent reality, no problem if total area exceeds 100 %
4
Comments Field 3.2 species population size
Sometimes not possible for migratory birds to distinguish staging from wintering population If not possible to report on different seasons -> enter the figure for the most important one (either wintering or “concentration”)
5
Comments Fields 3.1, 3.2 for species or habitats types which are not present anymore enter 0 for size Field 4.4: Site designation (aspects of site designation that is not covered by the codes used in site designation code fields) will be kept in SDF
6
Comments Threats and pressures obligatory field
This information is important, an overview on the situation in the network is only possible if filled in by all MS (remark: field vulnerability of current version of SDF is obligatory deleted in new version)

Updated Task Sheet WP 4 (VI) Prepare the switch to the new Standard Data Form Set up the “reference portal” 3rd quarter In case that revised SDF is approved: create and test MS Access database template for the revised version and test the template (SE volunteered to test new template)
