Larimer County Extension has many programs
4-H Youth Development Yard and Garden Agriculture and Natural Resources Nutrition and Food Safety Expanded Food and Nutrition and Education Program (EFNEP) Health Wellness & Family wellbeing Family Leadership Training Institute (FLTI) Larimer County Farmer’s Market County Fair 4H – about 50 project choices, plus STEM out-of-school offerings Yard & Garden = Master Gardener Program, Tree Team, lawn checks, Ag & NR = Building Farmer’s & Rancher’s Program, Small Acreage Assessments, Native Plant Master, Weed & Poisonous Plan Mgt, Nutrition & Food Safety– NUTRITION: EFNEP COMMERCIAL: Food Safety Works Classes (for food service workers that covers basic req’s for safe food handling, provides a 2-year certification); Certified Food Protection Manager; Cottage Food Safety training. RESIDENTIAL: Food Preservation & Prep workshops – canning, freezing, dehydrating, fermenting; Master Food Safety Advisor Program (trained volunteers to educate and provide community resource info on food safety Health & Well-being = Healthy individuals and families and healthy aging! Senior Access Points, GRANDcares, wellness classes FLTI week leadership and civic engagement course for youth and adults (12-17 & 18 and over) EFNEP = teaches low-income adults and youth how to make healthy food & food choices and stretch their food dollars Farmer’s Market Larimer – In 45th year May - October County Fair – 4H and Open Class competitions
