Purpose of the autism self assessment framework
Reviewing progress and helps to support future planning Helps to identify the progress in the implementation of the Autism Strategy All information is analysed by the Public Health England learning disabilities observatory Previous submissions can be found at:

Data gathering Each local authority gathers data from their local area
A variety of services are approached to participate in the documents including: Local authorities Criminal Justice Services Health services Local 3rd sector agencies ‘i-stories’ are also requested from local community members

Action/Next Steps Training and Raising awareness GPs, Hospitals staff, Local Authority Frontline staff Training of key officers Plain English communication, How do we get the information out there especially to the 80% or more who do not access Council services/do not meet Council assessment criteria Autism Card/how is it issued/is it working? Where/How do people with Autism access information What is the role of Autism groups in facilitating this Training and keeping record of staff trained in Autism Awareness Investigating the opportunities for Autism Awareness training within the providers and local community Provision of Information without jargon/plain English Working with TAPB and other Autism bodies to make information more accessible

Involving the Criminal Justice System/Emergency Services /Police/Courts/Prisons/Fire CCG/ JCP Lack of engagement by key Partners Have the Criminal Justice System as a focus of the next TAPB with presentation from CJS partners explaining their current workings around the local Autism agenda
