INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING YOUR FIRST TECHNOLOGY ASSIGNMENT Objective: I will use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a slideshow about myself and save it to my jump drive.
1. Computer should be turned on and at the main screen.
2. Go to the menu button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
3. Move the cursor up until the Programs folder is highlighted and click on it.
4. Move the cursor over to the right until the Microsoft Office folder is highlighted and click on it.
5. It will list all of the programs that are in the Microsoft Office folder. Select the Microsoft Office PowerPoint program.
6. A new slideshow document will open and should be ready for you to start creating.
7. Go to the font box and click on the button to the right on each part and select a font and size.
8. The font and the size have both been selected now you may begin typing your first slide about yourself. It must say: All About _____
9. As you are working on your slideshow, it is important to save your document for it to be graded. Go to the file button in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and click on it.

2. 10. Move the cursor down until you see the save button highlighted and then click on it.
11. A box will open and it will already have a file name for your document, but you must change it. You must also select your jump drive to save this assignment correctly. Click on the folders section on the left-hand side. Then click on My Computer. Your jump drive will show up as a removable disk. Click on the removable disk.
12. Now, the slideshow should be saved as: lastnamefirstname. (Ex. gravesmelia) Once you have typed this in the highlighted box click on the save button. It is important that you continue saving your work . Always go to the file button and select save. (As long as your document is open through your jump drive it will continue to save the changes to your jump drive. )
13. You will need to design the title slide as listed in #8 plus 5 more slides. This is a total of 6 slides.

6 – I’m sad when…
15. You need to have at least one picture for each slide. To add a picture, click on the insert tab at the top of the screen. You can either select clip art or picture.
16. You also need to make the background colored. Click on the design tab. Then click on background styles where you will select the color of your choice.
17. Continue each step until you have completed all 6 slides.
18. You have now completed your first assignment. Great Job!!!
