One half of the meeting time is lecture and the other is laboratory, as per need.
Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology by Martini and Nath, 8th edition or Bartholomew, Martini and Nath, 9th edition
A&PI Lab Manual for HCCS edited by Keating and Wiersema.
Prerequisite: Biol 1406 (4 credits: 3 lectures and 3 labs) or any Basic Human Biology Course and the knowledge you acquired therein:
Focus on biological chemistry, biological processes, cellular morphology, metabolism, genetics and molecular biology. 

3. Tests:
A combination of take-home assignments and short tests in class
Tests will vary in length and will be a combination of multiple choice, match the following, fill-in-the-blanks and short answer type questions.
Final exam on the last day of class, will be the last few chapters that were taught before it. Tests constitute 65 % of the total score.
Take home tests constitute 10% of the total score. Maybe one or two.
Lab work :
consists of learning to use the light microscope and viewing slides of tissue relevant to the syllabus. This will constitute 10% of overall score.
Lab will be on Tuesdays, PM. Attendance is mandatory. If you miss a class then it is your responsibility to see that you wok on the slides and submit the labwork and assignments on time
Dissection of Cat:To be decided in class.
Assignments :
consist of the the exercises in the lab work book . Finish the requirements and answer the questions and submit them on Thursday by the end of the class. This will consitute 15% of the overall score
It is your responsibility to keep up with the lab work and submit the completed assignments on time that means on the Thursday of the week. If not you lose 5 points on each week’s submission
Final Score
Average of all assignments, lab work and tests. ( )
A small % of total score reserved for good behavior, prompt submission, full attendance and good lab work

5. Learning Objectives 1. The levels of organization of the human body.
2. The concept of homeostasis and how it applies to the human organism.
3. Review the structure and function of human eukaryotic cells.
4. Identify and recognize cells and tissues that comprise the organs of the body.
5. Identify the organs of the integumentary system.
6. Identify the bones and functions of the skeletal system.
7. Identify the muscles and the function of the muscular system.
8. Identify the structure and function of the nervous system.

6. Lab Work and general rules of classroom
Length of lab depended on the material. Lab at the end of each class. Have the manual and bring to class.
Record your observations, draw brief sketches of slides showing your observations clearly and labeling them neatly. Pencil for sketches and pen for writing.
Clean up before leaving room. If group work, then work together but submit reports individually.
If there is a question bank in the manual, write the answers clearly and concisely and submit.
Assignments and lab reports due at the next meeting. Points taken off for late submission.
Miss test or assignment or lab work, no make up unless sickness or death in immediate family.
If you need additional tutorial, we’ll set up a time after class.
