6 Servant Leadership “A servant leader is a leader who is focused on serving others. A servant leader is aware that he or she is an instrument for good, a person who has been given certain abilities or gifts that are meant to be used in helping others. A servant leader is not worried about the attention others pay to him, but the attention he or she pays to others. A servant leader loves people, and wants to help them.” Keys to servant leadership: honors others before self inspires vision before setting the course chooses ethics before profit empowers others before personal gain privilege people before task balances focus with flexibility, serves with humility seeks mentors and mentors others!

7 Dr. C’s words of wisdom Buy time! This has to be #1 right?
Leaders listen, learn, and affirm. Surround yourself with people that are smarter than you. The best leaders reward/recognize their people. You can learn a lot from people who disagree with you. Bad news is just additional information. Be consistent! Be flexible. Appearance matters (did I wear a tie today?) Put students first.
