Partnered with the Arconic Foundation to introduce middle-school students to physics and engineering through constructing a hot air balloon, a rocket, and more. A total of seven lesson plans across 12 hours of instruction, the curriculum is designed to encourage perseverance and inquisitiveness through experimentation.

She lived from 1914 to She was a popular movie star during the 1940s. In 1942, she coinvented an early form of spread-spectrum broadcasting that affected naval torpedoes. Her invention helped the Allies win World War II and is used in our cell phone technology today.
Remember Blazing Saddles? Hedley Lamarr, the railroad tycoon (bad guy) played by Harvey Korman.
Her last years were spent in Altamonte Springs.

In 2015, we partnered with the Verizon Foundation and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to build the Mobile App Inventor program. Piloted at our STEM camps and currently hosted online by MIT, the tool teaches girls mobile app design and basic programming skills.
