Arrival: Grown at a Harvard Botanical Garden but some were released for overpopulation reasons.
Impact: Blocks light for native species, little nutritional value.

Method of control: Pull them out of the water, Clean boat to prevent them from latching on and spreading.

Arrival: It came in solid wood packaging and crates/pallets
Impact: Kills wide ratio of native trees

Came from: United States
Arrival: Used as aquarium decorations until released
Impact: Overtakes habitats, rids environments of native plants
Affected Organisms: Fish, Wetland Plants and Habitants
Method of control: Hand pull them out, Harvest, Rake, DON’T CUT.

7. Sea Lamprey Came from: Atlantic ocean, St. Lawrence River
Arrival: Entered the Great Lakes by migrating through canals.
Impact: Kills fish
Affected Organisms: Fish
Method of control: Lmapracide TFM

8. Japanese Knotweed Came from: Japan
Arrival: Decorations for estates in the late 1800’s until farmers started growing more.
Impact: Crowds and Shades out native vegetation.
Affected Organisms: Water and Fish quality, Entries to waterways.
Method of control: Pulling them from environment, Chemicals

9. Sirex Woodwasp Came from: Europe, Asia, North Africa
Arrival: It was brought to America through wood shipments
Impact: It burrows in pine trees and makes nests in them

Method of control: Use other parasitic wasps to hunt them down.

Arrival: Brought to the U.S. as an ornamental plant.
Impact: Stops growth of native plants, Sap burns human skin

Arrival: It was attached to pine trees that were being shipped.
Impact: They kill plants, and trees by absorbing their nutrients
