1 Working together as Christ’s body
Devo (Daniel. C and Daniel. W)

3 The body The body has many different functions that work together
Different measures and functions keep us healthy As a part of Christ’s body, the church must also work hard to keep it healthy This can only occur if everyone cooperates; trust in Christ (the head), and trust and strengthen each other

4 Christ is our head (listen to him)
Why does it matter? Christ is our head (listen to him) We are all part of His body (love one another) Everyone has a role (do something good) The body of Christ (both as an analogy and a spiritual body) is important Recognise the significance of Christ as the head of the body (trust in him always) Recognise that each one of us is a part of his body (love one another) Recognise that everyone has a role (help and encourage each other)

5 We are the body of Christ!
John 2: 21 – “but the temple he had spoken of was his body.” Ephesians 5: 23 – “…Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour.” Christ is the head of the body and the church, while the church makes up the rest of it As the head, Christ is also our brain (he should be the one to tell us what we should do)

6 Christ takes care of his body
Ephesians 5: 29 – 30 – “…they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church – for we are members of his body.” 1 Corinthians 15: 45 – “”The first man Adam became a living being” ; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.” We listen and submit to Christ as the head of the church For all he has done, we should do our best to appreciate Christ as the head of the church and trust in his every word

7 We are all part of the same body
Mark 3: 35 – “Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother” 1 Corinthians 12: 13 – “For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body [Christ’s body the church]” We are considered part of His family/flesh In Christ and God’s eyes, through Christ we are a part of His body (flesh and blood) His body is formed when those baptized in the Holy Spirit unite (as part of His church) We are therefore considered brothers and sisters and should love one another

8 The body has many parts 1 Corinthians 12: 12, 18 “Just as a body, though one, has many parts… so it is with Christ” “…God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just where he wanted them to be.” In accordance with God’s design, the body’s many different organs and cells operate such that it can be stable Christ’s body also consists of parts that must work hard to maintain the church

9

10 We all have our part to play
1 Corinthians 12: “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.” We can ALL do something to help As a part of Christ’s church and God’s ministry, we all must realise what we can do to help Each cell in the physical body works hard to maintain stability and keep the body alive We work to keep the church alive and uphold God’s ministry

11 Christ’s body is the church, where he is the head
Overall Christ’s body is the church, where he is the head We all have important jobs to do A healthy body is one where everyone works together The body of Christ is an important aspect of our lives and a concept we should grow to understand It helps us operate as one church with different members working in harmony and love/respect As His body, we submit to Christ our head and recognise that we are all significant contributors to his cause This is the only way to do God’s will and maintain a healthy spiritual body (God’s greatest commandments can summarise)

12 We’ll be back after this (song) break

13 (this could be another teamwork how to slide?)
1 Thessalonians 5: 12 – 14 “…acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you” “…warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone” Hey Daniel, this is just something I came across that might help you in your part of the devo if it works out.

14 How to have teamwork?

15

16 Romans 12:4-8 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

17 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;
8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

20 The 4Ps of Awareness When Serving God
Price Pride Personal/Self Pistis (Faith) Price- Are you aware? Grace & Mercy and price that was paid. Pride- Are you aware of pride? We cant have pride in order to serve God Personal- self aware? Increase our awareness to think soberly, feedback, share more, try new things Pistis (faith)- are you aware? Different measure of faith, not to compare, examine our own service

21 Grace is what God gives us when we don’t deserve
Mercy is when God doesn't give us what we do deserve Examine with me their true meaning. When God in Jesus took the punishment for our sins upon himself, he didn’t give us what we deserve (eternal condemnation and separation from him). What incredible mercy! But God didn’t stop there. He continually gives us what we don’t deserve—the next beat of our hearts, the air in our lungs, the food we eat, the clothes on our back, the privilege of living on his earth, our different friends and family members, experiencing the beauty of his creation, etc. Plus, he gave us the precious, invaluable gift of eternal life—an eternal relationship with his Son, Jesus—something we don’t deserve. What amazing grace!

22 Not to be a Snob, no being prideful

23 I believe self awareness if key to thinking soberly
I believe self awareness if key to thinking soberly. How can you stop thinking you are better than others and think soberly without knowing yourself? Do you really know yourself or do you think you know yourself?

24 God has given each of us each own measure of faith.
So another important thing here is not to compare with one another. Comparing one another is not wise

25 0= Oneness

26 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Don’t think of just yourself think of others then you can see the ONENESS
