1 JACKSON STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST PLEASE TURN OFF CELL PHONES
WELCOME TO THE JACKSON STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST PLEASE TURN OFF CELL PHONES

2 1 Chronicles 29:10-12  Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said: "Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. 11  Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. 12  Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.

4 ONLY GOD CAN… Poster making rounds on facebook. I added some to that and put scriptures with them to show how God did these things in the bible. The people said of Jesus, “He had done all things well.” Mark 7:32-37  Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. 33  And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. 34  Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened." 35  Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36  Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. 37  And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak." God is all powerful – Omnipotent There are truly some things only God can do.

5 I. GOD CAN TURN A MESS INTO A MESSAGE
Joseph, hated by his brothers, sold into slavery, imprisoned by Potiphar, forgotten by the butler. Genesis 50:20  But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

6 II. GOD CAN TURN A TEST INTO A TESTIMONY
Genesis 22:1-2  Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." 2  Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you." Romans 4:1-3  What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2  For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3  For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

7 GOD CAN TURN A TRIAL INTO A TRIUMPH
1 Peter 1:6-9  In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7  that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8  whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9  receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls.

8 IV. GOD CAN TURN A VICTIM INTO A VICTORY
Acts 2:22-24  "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know-- 23  Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24  whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

9 IV. GOD CAN TURN A VICTIM INTO A VICTORY
1 Corinthians 15:54-57  So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." 55  "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?" 56  The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

10 V. GOD CAN TURN A SINNER INTO SINLESS
Mark 2:5-12  When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you." 6  And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7  "Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" 8  But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? 9  Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise, take up your bed and walk’? >>>

11 V. GOD CAN TURN A SINNER INTO SINLESS
10  But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the paralytic, 11  I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." 12  Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!" Acts 22:16  And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

12 VI. GOD CAN TURN A STRUGGLE INTO STRENGTH
2 Corinthians 12:7-8 7  And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8  Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10  And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

13 VII. GOD CAN TURN A THOUGHTLESS PERSON INTO A THOUGHTFUL ONE
Philippians 2:3-4  Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4  Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

14 GOD CAN TURN THE WILLFUL INTO WILLING
1 Peter 4:1-3  Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2  that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3  For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles--when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

15 IX. GOD CAN TURN THE HOPELESS INTO HOPEFUL
Ephesians 2:11-13  Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh--who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands  that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

16 GOD CAN TURN THE DEBTOR INTO DEBTLESS
Galatians 5:1-6  Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2  Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3  And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4  You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5  For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

17 ONLY GOD CAN… Trees By Joyce Kilmer I think that I shall never see,
A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest, Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in Summer wear, A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree. There are some things that only God can do. Are you looking to God for the salvation only He can provide.
