Remedial interventions
Provinces urged to budget for strategic and scheduled deployment of resources including overtime Targeted deployment of resources on identified hazardous location Province-wide engagements of labour formations for implementation of 24/7 shift system, simultaneously placing the issues on DPSA agenda Investigations on learner and driver licence as well as vehicle roadworthiness certificate issuance Other key activities will include: Inter-provincial K78 roadblocks Roadside check points Speed enforcements Overload controls Drinking and Driving First solution: There should be intelligence-led interventions (e.g. long weekends) Second Solution: We know hazardous locations – we need to target these areas

Remedial interventions
Pre-Easter weekend operations from the 17th of March to 14 May to ensure that long weekend travels are carefully monitored Special focus will be on public transportation Engagement with bus operators to provide schedules for the Easter period; Escorts for buses to enforce speed and fatigue control
