Do You Want to Get Well? Part 23
2
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
3
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
4
Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
5
Do You Want to Get Well? 1. Running the race.
6
Do You Want to Get Well? 1a. Nike’s.

1 John 5:4-5 (NIV) 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
8
Do You Want to Get Well? 2. Jesus wants to help you.
9
Hebrews 12:14-18 (NIV) 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil-- 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
10
Hebrews 12:14-18 (NIV) 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants. 17 For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
11
Hebrews 12:14-18 (NIV) 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
12
Do You Want to Get Well? 3. Jesus understands you.
13
Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV) 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
14
Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV) 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.
15
Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV) 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
16
Do You Want to Get Well? 4. Jesus takes joy in you.
17
Hebrews 12:2 (NIV) 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
