College Credit Plus College-readiness determined by college. No minimum GPA required. College Readiness for most universities now is determined by ACT scores. In order to be accepted into Miami for CCP, students must earn a 22 in Reading and an 18 in English on the ACT. If ACT has not been taken, you may take the Accuplacer at Miami – you must receive an 80 or higher in Reading, 5 or higher in Writing, 55 or higher in Math. UC Blue Ash follows the same process … if you have taken the ACT, they will use the Act Scores. If you have not taken the ACT, and accuplacer test will be administered by the university.

College Credit Plus Find the Colleges and Courses that Fit Students have options Counselors will share sample pathways with you. Pathways are courses to help you choose, not obligate you. One of the great features offered with the CCP program is the Pathways feature. Participating colleges and universities have created course pathways to help ensure students are taking courses that will be beneficial for them and their future plans. As part of the paperwork packet I have given you, I included UCBA’s sample pathways for Psychology and Liberal Arts.

19 Consider Your Personal Academic Goals
College Credit Plus Consider Your Personal Academic Goals Example of Caelyn Boyd – she has high goals for her post high school academic life --- her goal is to help reduce some of that cost by taking more classes at no cost during high school. Some students want to take a class that is more suited to their interests, some would like more of a challenge. Discuss with your student their reasons.

20 If you fail the class or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it.
College Credit Plus If you fail the class or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it. Classes failed or withdrawn with an “F” will receive an “F” on the high school and college transcripts and will be computed into the high school and college GPA. If you do not receive a passing grade, the district may, in some instances, seek reimbursement for the amount of state funds paid to the college on your behalf for that college course. The school district may withhold grades and credits received for high school courses taken until reimbursement has been made.
