Changing our minds about God, about each other Easter 2019
Acts 10:34-36

Peter said, “I really am learning that God doesn’t show partiality to one group of people over another. Rather, in every nation, whoever worships him and does what is right is acceptable to him. This is the message of peace he sent to the Israelites by proclaiming the good news through Jesus the Messiah: He is Lord of all! Acts 10:34-36 (CEB)

A voice told him, “Get up, Peter! Kill and eat!”
Peter exclaimed, “Absolutely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke a second time, “Never consider unclean what God has made pure.” This happened three times, then the object was suddenly pulled back into heaven. Peter was bewildered about the meaning of the vision. Just then, the messengers sent by Cornelius discovered the whereabouts of Simon’s house and arrived at the gate. Acts 10:13-17(CEB)

The Message: Acts 10:34-36 Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he’s doing it everywhere, among everyone.

“Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Matthew 22:36-40 (CEB) “Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?” He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being*, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself**. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.” *Deuteronomy 6:5 ** Leviticus 19:18
