Biology Do Now Directions: Take out a sheet of notebook (Do Now sheet) and answer the questions. What are the inputs (reactants) of photosynthesis? What are the outputs (products) of photosynthesis? What are the inputs (reactants) of aerobic cellular respiration? What are the outputs (products) of aerobic cellular respiration?

Biology Do Now Key Directions: Take out a sheet of notebook (Do Now sheet) and answer the questions. What are the inputs of photosynthesis? Carbon dioxide, water, sunlight energy What are the outputs of photosynthesis? Glucose, oxygen gas What are the inputs of aerobic cellular respiration? Glucose, oxygen gas What are the outputs of aerobic cellular respiration? Carbon dioxide, water and ATP

Relationships between the amounts of reactants and products
6CO2 + 6H2O + sunlight 1C6H12O6 + 6O2 The numbers in front of the molecules are called coefficients. They represent the amount or number of molecules needed or produced in a reaction. For example: 6 molecules of carbon dioxide produces 1 molecule of glucose. 6 molecules of carbon dioxide reacts with 6 molecules of water. In order to produce 6 molecules of glucose, the reaction would need 36 (6x6) molecules of carbon dioxide.

Reminders Check your bean plants.
3rd Quarter ends on next Tuesday. April 9, I will close my grades on Sunday, April 7, 2019!
6
Objective Students will answer unit 2 review questions to prepare for tomorrow’s unit 2 assessment.
