Course Selection Process

Course Selection Sheet Requirements
Please be sure to write your name, student number and parent’s on the top

Core Courses Required courses: Language Arts, Math, Science & Social Studies will be selected for you based on the following: Grades Test Scores Teacher Recommendations Motivation & willingness to work hard!

Algebra 1 7th Grade Advanced Math must have been successfully completed! Algebra 1 is a high school class and will give you 1 high school credit. This class will count towards your high school GPA. This course has an EOC (End of Course Exam) at the end of the class. Parents must sign for you to take this course. Note: Three of the Four math credits required for graduation must be earned in Grades 9-12!

PE Requirement You may waive PE if: you need to take Intensive Reading
you need to be in another class (Choice Program, band, etc.) you participate in physical activities outside of school Note: Parents must sign to waive PE!

Electives You must choose 4 electives – Number them 1-4 where 1 is your 1st choice and 4 is your last choice! We will try to give you your 1st Choice, but if it does not fit you may get what you selected next.

Information Technology
Fundamentals of Web & Software Development This course is a computer based class that will help students with skills related to web and software development. This hands on course is held in a computer lab where students will learn about equipment, materials and technology.

New Electives! The Research Class taught by Ms. Williams has been split into 3 separate electives: 1. Yearbook 2. Newspaper 3. Computer & Library Skills – offers instruction in google & code.org.

Remember: Please be sure to take home your course selection sheet! Please review your selections with your parents or guardian and return the signed form to your Social Studies Teacher by March 15th!
