SANL Expo Almere 2013 Ladies and gentleman,
My name is James van IJsseldijk. I am here on behalf of SANL Expo and as a representative of Mr. Shahrokh Ansari. Mr. Ansari unfortuntaly couldn’t come today. He and I deeply regret this, for he made SANL Expo to what it is today: an upcoming and year-to-year exposition for the coming four years in order to help SA enterpises and to stimulate and promote SA export to the Dutch market. I am obliged to do this short presentation. In the next 20 minutes I hope your enthusiasm will grow to an extent that you will fully support SANL Expo. SANL Expo Almere 2013

IT’S possible … The motivation to start the SANL Expo directly stems from the study by DTI and SANEC, in which major opportunities are described for SA companies to expand their export capabilities to NL. The main objective of SANL Expo therefore is to facilitate these efforts with unprecedented exhibition possibilities for SA enterprises in NL.

SANL In 2013, therefore, SANL Expo plans to do the exhibition in Almere. As you may know, Almere is a fast growing city. In a few years it will be the fourth city by number of inhabitants. More important, Almere holds an enormous growth potential, due to the location in the centre of NL and the granted support to grow by local and national government.

Goals Particular Retail Business relation Match Making
Through various strategies SANL Expo will achieve its goal of growth of SA Export to NL. I shall discuss these means in the three slides to come.

Particular Retail Art Handicraft Properties Culture Tourism Wine Textile SA Products … Particular retail (or private retail) aims at the average Dutch consumer. People in the NL very much like SA products. The goods and services mentioned in this slide are great examples of the industries we very much would like to be involved in SANL Expo and the growth of SA export to NL. For instance: properties. With only an investment of EUR a Dutch consumer is able to build a villa in SA. In NL more than ten times of this amount is necessary to achieve this. Moreover we consider tourism as a high potential market. We are convinced that particular retail already can be succesfull in the 2013 SANL Expo.

Business Relation Agent Distributor Imp/Export Franchise Marketing SANL Expo can help to make business relations between SA and Dutch companies possible. One-time export contracts may be the start of a more consistent relationship. Good knowledge of local markets of SANL Expo in both SA and NL accomodates these relationships. So: by starting a single export contract relationships are built between the SA company on one side and Dutch distributors, distribution channels, agencies, franchisees on the other. Match Making Sub-contracting Investment Joint venture Match making is our most important goal. It goes beyond particular retail and business relations through its meaning on a social scale. This process will take no less than a number of years to be achieved. The social interest is the growth of employment in SA. Subcontracting levert veel op. Day 1 will hold the opening session Day 2 government Day 3 Agent/Distributor Business relations Day 4 Marketing session Day 5 Import-Export/Franchise Business Relation 14 sessions in 5 days Each day there will be plenary match making sessions: every session is of high interest, but in our opinion these are the most important ones.

Het is een heel nieuw gebouw. Prachtige locatie. Bijna hele gebouw afgehuurd. 100 en 120 exploitanten. We gaan heel selectief met klanten om. Kwalitatief hoogwaardig, maar doel is een lagdurige exportrelatie. We gaan exht bedrijven selecteren. Niet te veel uit eenzelfde branch. Eerste jaar geen winst. Volgende jaren wel winst voor het eerst. We zijn commercieel bedrijf. We zijn business match maker. Goeie relatie met lokale bedrijven. Schouwburg Almere
