BW/4HANA major selling points Simplicity The number of data objects will be reduced – eliminates data redundancies, increases consistency, and results in a smaller footprint Administration efforts to maintain data objects and error-prone data flows will also be reduced BW/4 HANA will leverage HANA’s data lifecycle features by automatically distributing data to hot and warm storage areas Openness Customers see great benefit in the possibility to expose BW/4 HANA models as native HANA views These automatically generated HANA views can be consumed in visualization tools like BusinessObjects Cloud or Lumira Or they can be used by customers to build their own HANA models on top of the BW/4 HANA models Modern UI BusinessObjects Cloud (instead of BEx) will provide a modern UX for visualization, storytelling and data exploration BW/4 HANA data can also be accessed by the Digital Boardroom UX will improve for administrators, as modern HANA Studio and Browser front ends will be used instead of SAP GUI front ends What are BW/4HANA's Major Selling Points? Simplicity: The number of data objects will be drastically reduced – from ten objects down to four. BW/4 HANA will for example not contain InfoCubes, Staging Areas or InfoSets. This will eliminate redundancies on data level, increase consistency and result in a significantly smaller footprint. At the same time, administration efforts to maintain data objects and error-prone data flows will be reduced. Further, BW/4 HANA will benefit from HANA’s data lifecycle features to automatically distribute data in tiers to hot and warm storage areas; this will shorten the data load-to-consumption path. Openness: According to customer feedback, the possibility to expose BW models as native HANA views will be highly beneficial. These automatically generated HANA views can for example be consumed in visualization tools like BusinessObjects Cloud or Lumira, or they can be used by customers to build their own HANA models on top of the BW/4 HANA models . Modern UI: BW/4 HANA will not contain the old-fashioned BW BusinessExplorer end-user front end. Instead, BusinessObjects Cloud will provide a modern end-user experience for visualization, storytelling and data exploration. BW/4 HANA data can also be accessed by the SAP Digital Boardroom. Additionally, the user experience will improve for administrators, as modern HANA Studio front ends will be utilized instead of SAP GUI-based front ends. Acceleration: Operations and calculations like currency conversions and transformations on details level can be pushed down to HANA, resulting in a superior performance. In addition to that, HANA-specific libraries (such as those for Predictive, Text Analysis, Data Mining and Machine Learning) can be utilized running in the HANA core. As is the case with BW-on-HANA, we expect that scale-out will be a de facto standard for customer implementations. How can we add the points 'SQL : Inbound and Outbound' and 'Embrace Big Data and ML'? High Performance Operations and calculations on details level can be pushed down to HANA, resulting in a superior performance HANA-specific libraries can be utilized running in the HANA platform As with BW-on-HANA, scale-out will be a de facto standard for customer implementations
