15 LNPWI Funding

16 Mission LNPWI seeks multiple partners to implement innovative and data-informed projects that lead to sustainable employment for individuals in Philadelphia by addressing a need or population in the community not already being served by existing programs in the area.

17 Award Between $25,000 to $200,000 a year Multiple Projects
Multi-Year Grant - 3 years Educational and Workforce Development Programming Innovative and data-informed projects that lead to sustainable employment

18 Eligibility Applicants must operate within the City of Philadelphia.
Nonprofit and for-profit agencies may apply with the exception of individual vendors. Note: prior federal funding is a plus, but not required. Organizations external to Temple University may only submit one concept as the lead. Entities at the department level within Temple University may only submit one concept.

19 Budgeting Guidelines Concept budgets should not include funding for:

Concept Narrative – Not to exceed 5 pages

21 Narrative Overview Organizational Background and Information
Give a brief summary of your organization’s history. Describe your organization’s current workforce development programs and activities.

22 Summarize the Concept Briefly explain how your concept fits with the LNPWI’s mission and how it links to the city’s workforce development plans and strategies. All applicants serving Philadelphia County will be considered, however, priority geographic areas include 19121, 19122, 19123, 19125, 19130, 19132, 19133, and zip codes.

23 Concept Description Explain how this concept fills an unmet need between education and/or employment within the community. Explain your goals and SMART Provide detail on how you plan to accomplish your goals, and your proposed timeline List partners who will be engaged in this concept and their respective roles. Note: All concepts must include an authentic university and community partnership and engagement with employers. Describe the indicators that will be used to measure the impact of your concept, and the process to collect data.

Share job openings with us Work with us to develop a pipeline of North Philadelphia residents into jobs at their respective company. Be featured as one of our "Employer Spotlight" Participate in Temple's Annual Neighborhood Job Fair (coming in May 16th) Promote Community Outreach Efforts Join our listserv to receive monthly e-newsletters on community outreach efforts Use social media to spread the information from the monthly e-newsletters, among their networks Invite us to speak at appropriate events that they can sponsor Share Expertise/ Collaborate Volunteer to do workshops or training related to their area of expertise with the community Serve as a professional mentor based on their career and aspirations of the mentee Agree to be a supervisor or host site for individuals seeking summer or year-round work experience Support the work Contribute to a scholarship program or sponsor individuals residing in North Philadelphia who cannot afford to take non-credit or credit courses at Temple Connect us to corporate or foundation giving opportunities that align with these initiatives. Provide in-kind work-related resources, e.g. tablets, briefcases, etc. Consider donating items that help individuals with other barriers to employment
