Technical Drill: First Touch and Passing
Transition to Attack Technical Drill: First Touch and Passing - Players on the outside each have a ball - Players on the inside make a run to receive pass from players on the outside, make a pass back, then make a run to receive a pass from a different player - Players on the outside stay active with the ball, ready to make a pass Coaching Points - Positive First Touch! Make a touch in direction of movement, forward when possible - Shoulder check before turning. Be aware of surroundings and where you want to move! - Keep head up and communicate with confidence!. Use the players name when you make and receive a pass Progressions - Players on the inside receive a pass, then dribble and make a pass back to another outside player without a ball - Receive and dribble with pace

Transition to Attack 2v3 - Attacking player feeds ball into the defending players to begin play - 3 attacking players try to win the ball and quickly score on big net - Defenders try to score on two wide pugs. - After a goal or if ball goes out of play, players retrieve ball and it goes back to coach Coaching Points - Encourage attacking players to press quickly to win the ball - Positive first touch!: When attackers win the ball first touch is forward if possible and into space - Quick shot if possible - If shot is not on, find space: Think to shoot first, then dribble, then pass!

Transition to Attack 4 corners - Teams score a point by dribbling ball into a square and delivering it to their teammate - Waiting teammate immediate dribbles from square and tries to dribble to opposite corner square - Once in play, players can dribble to either square - Defending team tries to win ball and dribble to their own teammate in the other 2 squares - Max 3v3 in the middle, with an extra player in one of the corners who can rotate through Coaching Points - Positive first touch!: When attackers win the ball first touch is forward if possible and into space - Look for a penetrating dribble first: quickly dribble towards your target if possible - If there is a roadblock, find space: Think to dribble, then pass!

Transition to Attack 1v1 Offensive player brings the ball out as soon as ball goes into net or out of play. Previous offensive player becomes defender. Previous defender fetches ball. Use side by side fields for larger groups Coaching points - Positive first touch!: When player wins the ball, first touch is forward if possible and into space - Look for a penetrating dribble first: quickly dribble towards your target if possible - If there is a roadblock, find space with a different angle of attack
