1 Week 2

2 The Heartbeat and Mission of Christ, to save the Lost
The Heartbeat and Mission of Christ, to save the Lost. (Luke 2:49; 9:51;15:1-32; 19:1-10) The Mission Statement of Christ Begs Some Questions What does “Lost” mean? Am I Lost? Do I have the same mission?

3 What is Lost? apo=away from/wholly
olethors=state of utter ruin The lost sheep doesn’t seek the shepherd. Adam and Eve didn’t seek God in their sin sickened condition, God sought after them (Gen. 3:8-9). Rom. 3:11-none seek Him.

4 Are you lost? Are you religious or do you have an ongoing personal intimate relationship with the Holy God that was made possible by the substitutionary atonement of Christ. You have by faith and repentance trusted Christ to redeem you from your sinful, blind, condemned, hopeless condition.

5 You are now walking daily with Christ through fellowship in the Word and prayer and there is obvious, genuine, fruitful evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit in you, controlling you and leading you. One of those evidences is your work as an ambassador of reconciliation. (II Cor. 5:17-21)

6 Do You Have Same Mission?
What would you do if you lost your car? What would you do if you lost your laptop, tablet or phone? What would you do if you lost your pet? What if you lost a child?
