5-3 Solving multi-step inequalities
Goals: Solve multi-step linear inequalities. Use linear inequalities to model real-life situations. Eligible Content: A / A

Remember the new rule!! When you multiply or divide by a negative number, you must flip the inequality symbol!!!

Solve for x. 2x + 7 < x < x < 5

Examples 2y – 5 < 7 5x + 3 > 12 5 – x ≤ 4 -3x + 1 ≤ 22

Solve –8y + 3 > –5. A. y < –1 B. y > 1 C. y > –1 D. y < 1

Practice Complete worksheet – “Kiss Undercover”

Word Problem #1 You plan to publish an online newsletter. You do not want your monthly costs to exceed $2370. Your fixed monthly costs are $1200. You must also pay $130 per month to each article writer. How many writers can you afford to hire? 130x ≤ 2370 x ≤ 9 You can hire up to 9 writers.
