3. Linguistic Intelligence: Word Smart They think with WORDS
Linguistic Intelligence: Word Smart They think with WORDS. When excited, they TALK.
Students who are particularly smart in this area can argue, persuade, entertain, and/or instruct effectively through the spoken word. They’re often trivia experts. They tend to be masters of literacy:
They read a lot.
They write clearly.
They listen intently.
They speak well.
These students often have problems with teasing, gossip, and name-calling.

4. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence: Logic Smart They think with QUESTIONS. When excited, they ASK MORE QUESTIONS.
Traits of logically inclined students include the ability to reason, sequence, categorize, and think in terms of cause-effect and comparison-contrast relationships. They are masters of:
Problem solving
Discovery
Research and data
Predictions
Analyzing
These students often have problems with testing authority.

5. Spatial Intelligence: Picture Smart They think with PICTURES
Spatial Intelligence: Picture Smart They think with PICTURES. When excited, they ADD to their PICTURES.
Students who are picture smart are sensitive to image details. They have the ability to observe, transform, and/or re-create visuals. They benefit from demonstrations and displays. They are masters of:
Art
Make-up application
Photography
Film-making
They are most susceptible to judging others based on looks.

6. Kinesthetic Intelligence: Body Smart They think with MOVEMENT
Kinesthetic Intelligence: Body Smart They think with MOVEMENT. When excited, they TOUCH.
The evidence of body intelligence can be found in motor skills and interests. These students are talented in controlling their body movements and/or handling objects skillfully. They are masters of:
Sports
Dance
Sewing
Carpentry/welding
They often have problems with fighting and inappropriate touching or movements.

7. Musical Intelligence: Music Smart They think with RHYTHMS
Musical Intelligence: Music Smart They think with RHYTHMS. When excited, they “MAKE” MUSIC.
Musically gifted students are able to hear, appreciate, and/or produce rhythms and melodies. They are masters of:
Singing in tune
Regulating their mood through music
Keeping time with music
Discerning between different types of music
They have problems with idolatry. (American Idol)

8. Interpersonal Intelligence: People Smart They think with PEOPLE
Interpersonal Intelligence: People Smart They think with PEOPLE. When excited, they TALK to PEOPLE.
Students with this intelligence are able to discern and then respond to moods, intentions, and desires of others. They tend to be leaders. They are masters of:
“Walking in others’ shoes”
Group Discussion
Brain-storming
Persuasion
Counseling/Coaching friends
They often struggle with manipulation.

9. Intrapersonal Intelligence: Self Smart They think with REFLECTION
Intrapersonal Intelligence: Self Smart They think with REFLECTION. When excited, they SPEND TIME ALONE.
Students strong in this intelligence can use their self understanding to guide their lives. They tend to enjoy quiet times of deep soul-searching. They are fiercely independent, highly goal-directed, and intensely self-disciplined. They are masters of:
Peace
Privacy
Space
Quiet
Individual assignments and research
They struggle with a lack of teach-ability and not sharing.

10. Naturalist Intelligence: Nature Smart They think with PATTERNS
Naturalist Intelligence: Nature Smart They think with PATTERNS. When excited, they GO OUTSIDE.
These students would rather be outdoors than indoors. They tend to love animals and are knowledgeable about them. They are skilled at recognizing and classifying plants, minerals, and animals, as well as cultural artifacts like cars or sneakers. They are masters of:
Visual patterns
Textures
Categorizing
Collecting
Architecture

12. Human Hunt: Multiple Intelligence Checklist
Take a sheet of paper out and write these activities down:
Whistle or sing at least 5 seconds from a song
Complete this numerical sequence 1, 2, 4, 8, ___, ___ and explain the logic behind it
Draw a picture of a car, wolverine, or pair of shoes
Do the dougie or any other dance
Share a dream you’ve had in the past week
Someone who can honestly say they are comfortable talking to everyone in this room
Approach a stray dog without scaring it

13. Wrap Up
There is a belief that you can be good at all of them, but inevitably we favor certain intelligences. It is important to know how you are intelligent so you can do your best to adjust and adapt to what you have to learn.
If you are musically smart, memorize facts in songs. If you dance well, create a dance about certain stories, or act out a short skit, etc
