Over two decades of experience of working around issues such as domestic violence, sexual violence, forced marriage and ‘honour- based’ violence.
Work at local, national and international level, in partnership with a range of organisations, to improve policy and practice responses to BME women and girls

3. what is pathfinder ?
A collaboration between an acute health trust, mental health trust and general practices in an area and the Pathfinder Consortium
A shared vision to achieve best practice and improve the responses to domestic abuse from health
A fixed term project (until March 2020) to map the process and build the tools to translate domestic abuse guidance and research evidence into practice

7. what do we know from the sites?
In over half of the areas there are no specialist BME / Disability or LGBTQ+ domestic abuse services
In some of the sites there is lack of referrals to MARAC of individuals who identify as LGBTQ+
BME women often face additional risks

Importance of considering multiple intersecting oppressions
Services should be user focused - what does the service user/client want
What is the impact on different and multiple identities and how they interact
What specialist services are in your area
Work in partnership with other agencies - wrap around approach
Language - independent interpreters
Approaches to asking the right questions at the right time and how to ask and act upon this information
