ANISH KAPOOR Sculptor, British-Indian, 1954-present (61)
Born in Bombay, Living in London since 1970’s “Ah-neesh Kah-poor”

KAPOOR Technically, Sir Anish Kapoor. He was knighted because of his service to the visual arts field. Born in Bombay, India (now Mumbai) his father is Hindu and his mother is Jewish He became an artist in the 1970’s He began working with polished stainless steel in These works are mirror-like, reflecting and distorting the viewer and their surroundings.

KAPOOR He is well known for his sculpture, “Cloud Gate”, in Millennium Park in Chicago. (2006) nicknamed “The Bean” 110 tons Permanent installation Viewers are able to walk underneath the sculpture

KAPOOR He is also known for his “Sky Mirrors”
One stands is located in Nottingham, England and the other in New York City, NY (2001/2006) The one in NY is slightly larger. 35 feet across, 3 stories tall, 23 tons

KAPOOR He was chosen to create a sculpture for the 2012 Olympic games in London. Called “Orbit” The tallest sculpture in the UK Kapoor has worked together with architects and engineers to create his work. His work is on exhibit around the world, the closest place to see it is the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) NY
