New degree program Beginning Fall 2019, CECS will be offering a new Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Any student interested will be able to declare Material Science Pending or Material Science Engineering in the fall term.

Major Declaration All change of major requests are being routed to the college for approval. Student’s UCF record is reviewed to determine if they fall under Progress Probation. Students who fall under Progress probation with 8 or more low grades (UCF academic history) will be denied. Message is sent to student.

Catalog Year Changes Catalog year changes are reviewed by the CECS Academic Affairs Office. Students on pre- Progress (before 2015) with 10 or more low grades are not approved to move forward into 2015 forward catalog years. Students who would be on Progress Probation are advised about the policy prior to submitting the catalog change.

Engineering Pending Students are eligible to move into the engineering major upon completion of: Calculus I (MAC 2311) Calculus II (MAC 2312) Physics I (PHY 2048 w/ lab) Chemistry I (CHM 2045 w/ lab) All courses require a C or better grade and student must be in good academic standing.

Computer Science Policy
Foundation Exam: Students now tested only on material from COP 3502C. Students have 3 opportunities to take the exam after successful completion of COP 3502C. The exam must be passed within one year (3 consecutive terms). If unsuccessful in passing the exam, the student will be redirected out of Computer Science. Only students declared as a CS major will be allowed to sign up for the Foundation Exam.

New Updates-Curriculum Changes Effective 2019
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Students will be required to take COP 3223C. COP 3223C is a PR for EML 3034C.
