2 Name these things using your conventional naming
H2SO4(aq) HCl(aq) HNO3(aq) HClO4(aq) HC2H3O2(aq)

3 Name these things using your conventional naming
NaOH Ca(OH)2 LiOH Mg(OH)2 KOH NH3 (okay, so this one is a weird one)

4 Acid Naming Oxyacids: Drop “hydrogen” -ate ending becomes –ic acid -ite ending becomes –ous acid HNO3 – Hydrogen Nitrate  Nitric Acid HNO2 – Hydrogen Nitrite  Nitrous acid Non-oxyacids: “hydrogen becomes “hydro” -ide ending becomes ic acid. HCl- Hydrogen chloride  Hydrochloric acid

5 Base Naming…easy mode The name is the exact same as you would normally name it…. NaOH  Sodium Hydroxide. Easy peazy.

6 Uh…that’s it! Summarize.
