2nd Grade Information
DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY both classes will be reviewing and practicing rules and expectations.
SUCKER SALES will be every Friday. There are many flavors. Each sucker costs $1. The elementary student council uses the money to sponsor a World Vision family. World Vision uses the money to buy the family a goat to provide milk for the family.
ROLLER SKATING began this past week! Thank you to the GMEF for covering the cost of all the roller skates. Because of their generosity, there is no cost to the students for roller skating. Thank you to Ms. Baudoin and Mr. Bain for having this fun activity as part of their phy. ed. curriculum!
ANTI-BULLING DAY is Wednesday, January 16. The elementary student council is encouraging students to wear ORANGE that day.
SWIMMING LESSONS: Second graders will begin riding the bus to Austin for swimming lessons at the YMCA beginning Jan.15. They will go every Tuesday for 8 weeks. On Tuesdays, the second graders will be eating lunch at 11:30 and the bus will leave at 12:05 for swimming lessons. The schedule is on the other side of this paper. On Tuesdays, all second graders should bring their swim suit, towel, comb, and a snack. After swimming, the students will get hungry and may need a snack for the bus on the way home. Snacks should not be messy. Granola bars work well. Students will return to school about 2:45.
SNOW PANTS AND BOOTS: If some students are getting a new pair of snow pants and boots for Christmas, they are welcome to leave an extra pair here at school. Otherwise, a large fabric bag works great to carry snow pants and boots to and from home.
AR TREATS: If you would like to donate AR treats that would be wonderful. Please be sure the treat are individually wrapped. Students receive a treat with a passing score of 80 or more. (We read and test whether we have treats or not.) Thank you!!
